ABOUT
The Towards Environmental Leadership Program was created in 2015 when Surf Coast Shire Council declared an intention for Surf Coast Shire to be known internationally as environmental leaders. The Program aims to recognise existing local achievements, to build on them and set directions for the future.
Council will continue to work with communities on this program, now bolstered by the declaration of a climate emergency. Council will undertake a range of corporate actions, as well as working with communities to support and recognise local action.
One Planet Living Principles
Council’s Towards Environmental Leadership Program is based on the One Planet Living framework. In adopting this framework, Council is joining many leading government and private organisations from across the globe using One Planet Living to guide their environmental programs.
